We're all on the same mission.

High Complexity. Low Volume. On Time.

United Machinists is a second-generation, family-owned precision machining business making mission-critical components for aerospace, defence, medical, electronics and automotive industries worldwide. Every part we produce is part of someone else's mission, a rocket, a prosthetic, a defence system. We treat it like ours too.

Low-volume, high-complexity is the work we're built for. 24/7 lights-out production and in-house CMM inspection mean clients receive what they ordered, to specification, when they need it.

Full Mission-Critical Accuracy & Efficiency

United Machinists runs one of the most capable precision machining teams in the business. What sets us apart isn't just the equipment, it's the people behind it: technical leaders who programme, set, run and inspect, rather than being siloed into separate roles. That depth is how problems get caught early and quality stays consistent, job after job.

Live KPI dashboards and secure customer weblinks track productivity, delivery and profitability in real time, so when things need to come together, you'll know they will.

Mission-Critical Machining

3-7 Axis CNC Machining

Our 3-7 axis mill, lathe and mill-turn machines, run by the technical leaders who programme and operate them, handle compound geometries and tight tolerances that many shops won't quote. Lights-out overnight production keeps jobs moving without compromising output quality.

MIL-PRF-8625 Certified Anodising

United Machinists runs a dedicated in-house anodising line delivering finishes to MIL-PRF-8625 standards. Parts machined in-house can be anodised and ready for shipment under the same roof, cutting overall lead times by up to two weeks.

Measurement & Quality

Precision doesn't stop at the machine. Our climate-controlled metrology lab runs two CMM systems, a 5-axis coordinate measuring machine and a robotically operated vision system, inspecting part accuracy to within half a micron. Every component is verified against specification before it leaves the floor. For mission-critical, high-tolerance work, this is the standard we hold ourselves to on every job.

ISO 9001 Certified Quality Control

Because we machine parts for a number of high-value industries, including aerospace, medical and defence, which must comply with strict production standards, we must hold specific quality credentials to ensure we can deliver consistent performance within extremely tight tolerances and no-fail parts.

Frequently Asked Questions

Your Questions
Answered

What machining capabilities does United Machinists offer?

United Machinists' facility runs 5-axis and mill-turn CNC machining, Swiss-style turning, 24/7 lights-out production, and on-site metrology, Mil-Spec anodising, and continuous fibre 3D printing.

What types of components does United Machinists produce?

United Machinists produces low-volume, high-complexity precision machined components across aerospace and defence, medical, electronics, and automotive and motorsport sectors, from prototype through to production.

What is lights-out production and why does it matter?

Lights-out production is fully unmanned machining that runs continuously without operator attendance. Jobs keep moving around the clock without adding cost or compromising output quality.

How does United Machinists ensure part accuracy and quality?

Every component is verified against specification before leaving the facility, using a climate-controlled metrology laboratory capable of inspecting part accuracy to within half a micron. The business is ISO 9001:2015 certified.

Does United Machinists offer anodising services?

United Machinists runs an in-house anodising line certified to MIL-PRF-8625, covering Type II and Type III Hard Anodising. Parts can be anodised and shipped without a third-party supplier, cutting lead times by up to two weeks.
