United Machinists are proud to announce the addition of an in-house anodising specialist service at our Dunedin plant.
Providing anodising under the same roof as machining was a quality-control decision for us, as a global supplier of high-specification machined parts. When parts move between machining and surface treatment without leaving the building, they can be inspected off-line, with high-risk dimensional features run through the CMM if needed, and then anodised, with full visibility into the component’s history.
That translates to less risk of damage in transit, no spec miscommunication between suppliers, and parts finished to a consistent standard, run by the same quality team that inspects every other part in the building.
Lead times are reduced by up to two weeks compared to outsourcing the process.
Our current anodising capabilities include Type II, Class I and Type II, Class II in clear and black finishes, and Type III hard anodising.
We deliver high-quality anodised finishes to MIL-PRF-8625 standards, supporting a wide range of applications across industries where durability and corrosion resistance are critical, including:
- Aerospace
- Surgical and medical devices
- Electronics
- Defence
- High-performance automotive or mining
- Marine
