We were doubly honoured at the Grand Business South Awards 2025, taking out the Excellence in Manufacturing Award before going on to be named Supreme Winner. It’s a huge achievement for our second-generation, family-owned precision machining business.
The recognition reflects what our owners, Alex and Sarah Ramsay, along with the wider United team, have built over the past decade. Since Alex and Sarah took over the family business in 2016, they’ve invested heavily in technology and people, lifting the expertise, performance and capability of our machining operations.
Sarah says the team’s work together has turned us into a genuine global player, supplying mission-critical components to the aeronautical, medical and other high-specification industries worldwide.
As our Chief Executive, Sarah is a strong advocate for advanced manufacturing in New Zealand, and for Dunedin as a place where talent chooses to live and work.
We’re proud to have picked up both the Excellence in Manufacturing award and the Grand Supreme Business of the Year award at this year’s ceremony, but as Sarah is quick to point out, the real credit belongs to our team, everyone who shows up and puts in the work on every project.
Recognition like this means a lot, but our focus now is on what’s next. We’re committed to carrying that same drive forward, delivering the results that earned these awards in the first place.
We also want to thank our clients and partners, local and international, who’ve been part of the journey, as we look ahead to continued growth and learning.
